CORAL RESTORATION PROJECT – THE CIRCLE IS IN ACTION!
The team of Coralive.org has succesfully installed the base set up for the ongoing research project on coral restoration that is one-of-a-kind.
We placed mooring blocks, built 40 metal tables (which will host the coral fragments for the study) and dragged the heavy cables from the station on the beach to the study area under water. The team worked hard in the past couple of weeks and we couldn’t be more proud of their exceptional work.
MAINTENANCE ON THE OLD SITE
The domes placed around the end of 2018 received some maintenance and care.
The non-electrified domes have been removed and the corals were placed around the reef. A damaged/collapsed dome on the electrified site was lowered to the bottom creating a mesh-like structure. At the end, all domes were reconnected to the electricity and more fragments have been attached to them.
