The Newest Addition To The Fregate Family

While the rest of the world is a bit sceptical about bats for the past 2 years, WE ARE NOT!
Fregate Island is home to a big fruit bat colony that are the only endemic mammals in the Seychelles. Mid January, an attentive staff member found a baby fruit bat on the ground and brought it to the conservation office.
Anna, our well versed fruit bat expert and mother of two, knew exactly what to do as she had already brought up not just 2 beautiful daughters but also Baloo, another orphaned fruit bat that many guests have met during their stay in the last 2 years. Using full cream powder, a pipette, dummy and many towels, the team takes care of the by now 13 week old and around 125g heavy baby girl.
