Julie Pezin, the master student conducting the coral study, arrived a few weeks ago to start her research on the Mineral Accretion Technology efficiency, and she will be with us for a whole year. Julie is part of Fregate Island Conservation & Sustainability Team as well as Coralive.org. She will be working with us on all conservation projects, learning about birds, tortoises, plants and more, while her focus and responsibility will be the ‘Coral Circle’. With the help of other students, volunteers, and our island staff she will be collecting data on the growth and health of coral fragments placed on science tables on different electricity conditions.
